Home SOC: Four Models with Default Sampling

Four models answered the same saved log summaries. This group contains two tasks: structured reports with a two-minute deadline, and written reports with a five-minute deadline. The sampling settings use each model's defaults.

This page keeps the shared controls, retained measurements, failures, and comparison limits together. The linked files are there when you need the underlying table or method.

What you can compare here

Each model received 12 structured tasks three times and 6 written tasks twice. Repeats test consistency on those tasks; they are not new incidents. Compare completion and explanations within the same task and settings. These runs do not measure each model's best possible performance.

12 fixed log summaries, each asked 3 times. A finished report completed within 120 seconds and passed the report validator. (answers)
Passed full answer checklist
0 of 30
10 summaries contain alerts, each asked 3 times. A pass needs a finished answer, expected explanations, valid list lengths, no repeated selections/citations and the required review priority. (answers)
Expected explanations selected
36 of 63
21 expected explanation items across those 10 summaries, repeated 3 times. This counts selected items, not whole answers or new discoveries. (selections)

6 answers stopped at the 700-token output cap. The full answer checklist is stricter than completion; failing it does not mean every part of the answer was wrong.

Stopped at the output cap
8 of 12
These answers returned text but reached the 700-token output limit before finishing. None of the written requests exceeded its 300-second deadline. (answers)
Finished answers with a major factual error
0 of 4
No delivered answer was rejected for a major factual error in the recorded review. Other shortcomings are documented; this is not a complete accuracy score. (answers)

4 answers finished and 8 stopped at the output cap. The completed answers still have recorded shortcomings, including citations and explanation quality.

One task produced a major factual error, repeated in both answers. Repeating it twice is not two different incidents. (answers)

The model claimed 14 groups where the supplied summary contained 16. That error repeated twice; unfinished answers were withheld.

Results and method

These are the few files that support this page directly. The repository holds the wider project history.

Controls

  • Ollama 0.35.1 in the isolated SOC runtime; two CPU threads and no GPU layers
  • Frozen briefs, schemas and expected contexts; no weight training or per-model tuning
  • Context 4096; output cap 700; temperature 0; seed 17; thinking disabled; keepalive zero
  • One request at a time; resource guard; source-bound validation; original failures preserved
  • Structured: 12 briefs × 3 repeats × 4 models, 120-second deadline
  • Written: 6 nonempty tasks × 2 repeats × 4 models, 300-second deadline
  • Eight development requests are separate from the 144 structured and 48 written outcomes
  • Two CPU threads were a resource limit for the scheduled service. No thread-count sweep was run; larger-model timeouts do not establish that the models could not work with more compute.
  • The 4096-token context is the input-and-output window. The separate 700-token setting limits the answer. A timeout, output-cap stop and input truncation are different failures.

What this run established

  • $Qwen3.5 4B delivered 36/36 structured requests but retained only 15/63 expected context selections.
  • $The original 4B selected 36/63 contexts, then capped on six structured requests.
  • $Written mode delivered 20/48 answers. The newer 4B and Gemma each repeated one material false count.
  • $Semantic readings are source-linked agent assessments; identical repeats are not independent human reviews.
