Protectli V1610: Bounded CPU Thermal Check

Four owned CPU-load processes completed the 180-second check with five-second core-temperature sampling. The peak was 62 °C, followed by recorded cooling and process cleanup.

This page keeps the shared controls, retained measurements, failures, and comparison limits together. The linked files are there when you need the underlying table or method.

What you can compare here

Thirty-six samples from one short load, not independent thermal trials. This is a CPU-core observation, not case-surface temperature, thermal equilibrium, longevity or an overheating guarantee for every environment.

Results and method

Controls

  • OPNsense 26.7.5; Pentium Silver N6005; passive finned chassis; native core sensor
  • Four owned yes children; 180-second intended workload; sampling every 5 seconds
  • Stop at 80 °C or sensor failure; native protections retained; cleanup restricted to owned children
  • 181.132 seconds start-to-cleanup; process exit and storage checks retained

What this run established

  • $Maximum core reading 62 °C across 36 samples; no thermal stop.
  • $Final cores 53/53/53/52 °C; cooldown 47 °C.
  • $The browser CPU-percentage chart disagreed with native busy counters; native intervals were used for load evidence.
  • $ZFS was online with zero known data errors. SSD health checks showed no critical warning or media errors.
  • $The temperature widget persisted after reload and reboot. Its values are separate from the unresolved browser CPU-percentage chart discrepancy.
  • $The final storage checks reported ZFS ONLINE with no known errors and zero NVMe critical warnings, media errors, error-log entries or thermal transitions. Historical shutdown counters were unchanged.
